If you’re looking for some summer entertainment, there’s plenty to see, including Drama Desk winners that are still playing.
Schmigadoon!, a rollicking parody of some of the most popular American musicals received the Drama Desk award for “Outstanding Musical.”
A sly take on the dynamics driving neighborhood associations, The Balusters got the DD award for “Outstanding Play.”
Outstanding revival of a play and musical went to the epic Death of a Salesman and Ragtime. Both are still around thrilling audiences.
Some time remains as well to catch DD Outstanding Lead Performances by John Lithgow for the devastating Giant plus Joshua Henry and Caissie Levy for Ragtime.
The Outstanding Choreography award went to two highly deserving shows: Christopher Gattelli for Schmigadoon and Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons for CATS: The Jellicle Ball.
