Guided by the visionary artistic director, Moira North, the ITNY Gala Benefit and performance at Chelsea Piers always proves to be a fantastic evening of artistic ice skating performances by students, professionals and stars.
This year the great Scott Hamilton recieves the Lifetime Achievement Olypian and Humanitarian Award.
The Ice Angel Award goes to the long-time Senior Dance Critic of the NY TImes, Anna Kisselgoff.
The 6:30pm performance at Skyrink features the ITNY company performers along with World Champion Ilia Malinin.
Fabulous cocktails and dinner follow immediately at the Lighthouse situated right on the Hudson River.
Always a crowd-pleasing event, the ITNY is unique in the city becuase it commissions works by concert and street dance choreographers expanindg the artistic reaches of ice dance. Additionally, the organization provides instruction to countless children who learn not only how to skate, but how to be an artist and humanitarian.
