For one of the most joyous and musically astute jazz ensembles, Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra are appearing for three nights of jazz delights.
The band has pushed the boundaries of the Latin jazz genre with daring interpretations, performing and commissioning innovative compositions and arrangements by some of the most respected composers across the world, including O’Farrill himself. The stellar line-up includes special guests David Bixler (saxophone) and Heather Bixler (violin), the GRAMMY-winning bandleader and pianist and 18-piece big band bring their latest work, an exploration of the intersection of Irish folk music and the music of the Afro-Latin diaspora, to Irish Arts Center for three nights only.
