Irish Arts Center (IAC), presents the world premiere of Begin Anywhere, a new work by celebrated Dublin-based company John Scott Dance and composer/sound designer Mel Mercier, commissioned by IAC. A response to the legacy of iconic choreographer Merce Cunningham and composer John Cage, the evenings feature the new work alongside Four Solos by Merce Cunningham, an arrangement of choreography by Cunningham—Changeling(1957), Solo(1975), and excerpted solos from RainForest (1968) and Travelogue (1977)—presented in a continuous dance event, with music by John King. The solos are performed by arrangement with the Merce Cunningham Trust.

This is an outstanding opportunity to witness a contemporary take on a master choreographer’s creative process.
