The popular Parson Dance returns to the Joyce Theater for their two-week summer season. The premieres include David Parsons’ The Shape of Us, set to the music of Son Lux, an experimental electronic group led by Ryan Lott; Thick As Thieves, choreographed by Penny Saunders with a commissioned score by Michael Wall performed live and the jazzy Juke, created by Jamal Roberts.
Filled with high energy dancers, the varied programs draw out the company’s skill and theatricality.
